Expression of Interest – Part-time Ministry Worker

Expressions of interest are invited for a new paid part-time position to support the ministry to children and families in the Anglican Parish of Largs Bay church and local community.

About St Alban’s

St Alban’s Anglican Church is located at Largs Bay, a beachside suburb, along the coast of the Lefevre Peninsula in Adelaide, South Australia. We are a community of approximately 50-60 people of all shapes and sizes, ages, interests, and backgrounds. We currently have up to 10-12 children attending our Sunday services.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a welcoming community of people relating, worshipping, and sharing in (the good news of) Jesus. We aim to grow and strengthen our Christian community at St Alban’s through our relationships and fellowship with one another as a family, and the body of Christ.

Position overview

As part of this vision, we have a desire for our young people to grow in their love for Jesus and for God’s message to spread into our community. The position description is not fixed and is open for negotiation. It is possible for this ministry to be linked with the candidate’s skills, abilities, and own creativity. The position may include the following:

Church Community:

Prepare a lesson and activity for Primary-aged children for the 9:30am service

  1. Coordinate volunteers who help with the Children’s ministry

– Including communicate with volunteers and parents about the program

  1. Lead the children’s ministry during the 9:30am service

Wider Community

  1. Creating a space to gather families and individual people with children during the week, for example a ‘School Holiday program’, a ‘Playgroup’.
  2. Forming relationships with the families and children where possible, including time outside the gathering
