The Anglican Board of Mission (ABM) is asking people across the Adelaide Diocese to get behind the three working bees are planned February, making palm crosses for parishes in SA, as part of a fundraiser for the ABM’s Easter Appeal.
The working bees are at
- Fri 23 Feb – Holy Innocents Belair, 1-3pm
- Sat 24 Feb – St Andrew’s Walkerville, 10am-12 noon
- Sat 16 March – St Chad’s Fullarton, 10am-12 noon
“We are encouraging parishioners from across the Diocese to help make the palm crosses at these workshops – many hands make light work,” the Rev’d Paul Devenport, Chair ABM Provincial Committee in South Australia said.
If you have any palm cross makers in your parish that would like to assist or even learn how to make them, then contact Meagan Schwarz on 7078 3560 to register or to make them in your own time!
If a parish would like to host a working bee, or if you know a good supply of suitable palms that keep well, please also let Meagan know.
Parishes can also order palm crosses. Please use this online order form to order your palm crosses for 2024. They will still be $5 for 10 palms (while we are keeping our cost the same you are always welcome to add a donation to the Easter Appeal when you pay your invoice!).
The 2024 ABM Easter Appeal this year will once again promote and support the work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Anglicans and their communities. More details about the Easter Appeal will be available in the week or before Palm Sunday.
