The Reverend Barb Paul-Hunt, was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day honours list for services to the Anglican Church of Australia.
The Rev’d Paul-Hunt is Priest-in-Charge at St Philips Anglican Church in Somerton Park. She studied at St. Barnabas College and completed her B Min in 1997, being made deacon that same year.
The Rev’d Paul-Hunt was ordained a priest in 1999. She has been Priest in charge of Somerton Park for 20 years. In 2021 she began to lead a collaborative ministry between with the Anglican Parishes of Somerton Park and Warradale. She is chaplain to the Somerton Surf Life Saving Club and the SA Aquatic Swimming Centre Marion.
Her work has included setting up a pop-up haven for the homeless at the Marion Aquatic Centre which provided a space to serve meals, set up beds and access to hot showers.
