Art and soul at All Souls’

All Souls’ Church in St Peters is proud to host seven talented artists in the 2022 SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival in August, in an exhibition entitled Art and Soul at All Souls.

The Norwood Payneham St Peters Council awarded the church a Community Grant in order to participate in SALA and mount the exhibition.

In celebration of the International Year of Glass, the artists participating include well- known glass artists Aemonn Vereker and Julie Frahm.

Aemonn’s work captures the colours of Australian landscapes from the Outback, rainforest, Flinders Ranges, and deserts to the Barrier Reef.

Julie recycles glass to make jewellery and said she has been inspired to make 1,000 red glass beads by All Souls’ “magnificent [William Morris] stained-glass windows and in particular the angels with red wings”.

Other artists will exhibit works in a range of media including pen and ink, acrylic, pastel, watercolour and mixed media.

The exhibition will be opened on the afternoon of Saturday 13th August when some artists will speak briefly about their artwork and their artistic inspirations.

The show will run until Sunday 28 August, and many artworks will be available for purchase.
