Quarterly talks providing information & open discussion on matters of community concern
Next Session –
50 years after Dr George Duncan’s death: is the Rainbow community embraced?
Wednesday 08 February 2023 at 7:30 pm
It is 50 years since the death of Dr George Duncan. This session will ask the question, ‘What progress has been made in embracing the Rainbow community?’ The first speaker, Will Sergeant, is a noted historian of the Adelaide queer community; he also performs regularly as Dr Gertrude Glossip. Mr Sergeant will address the question from the societal perspective. The second speaker is Ms Meriel Wilson, retired manager in health care, a member of the Rainbow community and the People’s Warden at St Chad’s Anglican Church. Ms Wilson will consider the church’s ‘underwhelming’ performance on this matter. The talks will total around forty-five minutes, followed by an opportunity for audience questions and brief comments, moderated by the Chair to ensure open and respectful discussion.
